JEDWARD AT THE BBC
Media City in Manchester is the new home of the BBC, and therefore a hive of activity most days. It comes as no surprise then that it was abuzz with excitment when the Dynamic Duo from Dublin, John and Edward Grimes, known collectively as Jedward, came to visit.
First stop was BBC Breakfast, where they gave a fantastic interview. Details of that interview can be found in our update here.
After their appearance, the Twins recorded several radio interviews, including BBC Manchester, BBC Suffolk, BBC Solent, BBC Kent and BBC Wales. They talked about their upcoming UK tour at the end of September, their much-anticipated fourth album, on which they’ve written most of the songs, and the third season of their brilliant CBBC series, “Jedward’s Big Adventure”, which is going to have ten episodes, rather than the five of the previous two seasons.
The stand out part of all the interviews was the Twins stressing that things have changed - if people still think of them as being the zany hyperactive kids from the X Factor, they should think again. They are still driven and energetic, but they are nearly 22, and they want people to see them as the talented, ambitious, and successful performers that they are.
In a slightly different direction, John and Edward will be appearing tomorrow morning at 9.45 on Scott Mills’ programme, BBC Radio 1. They’ll be playing “Innuendo Bingo”. Sounds like it might be *cough* fun *cough*!
